Hilary Baxter Acting Course Director

Freelance theatre designer, with experience of costume design for television, pop videos & budget films.  Defising and directing theatre productions and short films exploring different aspects of costume and costume design work.  Professional credits include: costume Design 1998 'The Lost Vegas Series' (Riverside Studios) Set and Costume Design 1997'Dr Faustus' (RSC the Other Place) Costume Supervision: 1998 'Red Dwarf' TV series 8 ( BBC2/ Grant Naylor Productions.
Abbi Hammond Acting Pathway Leader & Senior Lecturer for Costume Design

BA(Hons) in Dance Theatre from the Laban Centre where she specialised in design and has now been a freelance designer and educator for the past 20 yrs, creating designs for over 100 dance peices.  She was the resident designer of the National Youth Dance Theatre for 13yrs, and Union Dance for 3yrs, Theatre creits include costumes for 'The Hobbit',touing and West End, costumes and set for 'Chrysalids', a National Theatre Education project and a site spedific devised theatre project for English Heritage, created with young people in Hounslow at Chiswick House.  Her work has developed a distinct focus on physicality and theatricality.  She lectured on design in Dance at the Royal Academy of Dancing and taught at Croydon College. London College of Fashion, Laban Centre.  Worked with acclaimed Zimbabwean choregrapher Bawren Tavaziva's 'Soul Inspired'.

Freelance costumier & dyer for film & TV.  Film work includes: SFX costume for Rachel Griffiths in 'So Annie Mary' (Dragon Pictures), chief dyer/costume breakdown 'A Knight's Tale' (Sony Pictures), animal costumes for 'Fierce Creature' and Oscar-winning 'Franz Kafka's it's a Wonderful Life' (both designed by Hazel Pethig".  TV work Includes: costumes for Steve Coogan's 'The Cruise', Lee Evans and the Harry Hill Show.  Mr Bloggy for Noe's House Party.  Costumes for Eddie Izzard's The Cows' and costume breakdown for 'Blackadder'.  Costumes for pop promos 'Massive Attack' and boy band 'A1'.  Dyeing and costume breakdown for Madame Tussauds and numerous exhibitions.

She studied Costume Interpretation (BA) & Visual Language of Performance (MA) at WCA. Researching globalisations legacy of cultural fusion, and recently became involved with Native Repatriation.  Her practice covers a broad interpretation of different mixed media, video & performance Credits: Exhibits her art work, most recently W.A.V.E.
